A 3 person team developed their wireframes from the perspectives of the separate users and issues identified in our research, my wireframes were developed from the “Coach” user.
OBJECTIVE
A 3 person team developed their wireframes from the perspectives of the separate users and issues identified in our research, my wireframes were developed from the “Coach” user.
The Problem Space
The website for Georgia soccer has user issues primarily of finding the information that the user needs. As an organization they need to be the primary source of information for their users while also providing pathways to various other websites for the users to complete requirements for their positions as a coach, referee, and/or player. Our goal is to highlight these pathways for those particular users.
RESEARCH
Secondary research along with a User Focused Mapping process to develop our User Personas and Most Viable Product.
SECONDARY RESEARCH
Being based in Washington State and being an active soccer player helped in many ways, especially from my father as a coach and my own experience as a youth and adult player. WYSA (Washington Youth Soccer Association) as the state equivalent was the most influential to how Georgia Soccer should approach their UI. Also Starfire sports is a local soccer organization that operates with the Seattle Sounders and as an organizer for Adult recreational soccer and their UI can be used as a reference.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
QUESTIONAIRE
Done with coaches registered with the Georgia Soccer Association, what their primary usage for the website was (# of coaches) and what devices they used to access the website (% of coaches).
“I use the website mostly to check schedules and look for licensing options. From time to time, I’m trying to find other clubs. I used to use it alot for the coach resources but I feel like that hasn’t been updated in awhile. Overall, it’s a solid website.”
“It takes too many clicks to get to where I want to go, the menus aren’t fully optimized for mobile”
“Very formal, which is good and bad. It would help to be able to navigate better. especially to the coaching clinics/resources options.”
“Sometimes hard to navigate on my phone”
